Randomly came across this place in New York and it was so good! This was the best chirashi bowl I've ever had and the spicy crispy shrimp was very tasty We had food around 3 so it wasn't as packed but the servers were nice

Great food!! Amazing atmosphere. Service was awesome. Husband and I were well taken care of with constant water refills and fast service. We were in and out in 30 mins considering it was rush hour. Get job momoya!

Visited Momoya and was immediately taken by the lively ambiance and quick service. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were seated within a brief 15-minute wait. We started with the Eel Avocado Roll and the Chef's Special Sashimi. I also decided to try their soufflé pancakes and sushi/sashimi combos I loved how diverse the menu was ranging from matcha to pancakes to sushi! I recommend ordering the sushi tho and the matcha dish.

Came here for my birthday and we had the Momoya Box, which contained nine sections of hand crafted chirashi bowls. Very pretty. While each base was the same sushi rice, pickled veg, and shisho leaf, all the toppings were fresh (except the uni) and unique that it made it feel much like getting an omakase at $65. We also had a traditional handroll which was honestly forgettable. However the evening ended with some complimentary dessert (for my birthday) which had ice cream over large chunks of fresh mochi - very tasty. Great date place and option for a celebration.

Came on a Saturday night with no reservation- they gave us a 30 min wait time and once they called us back to be seated they actually weren't ready for us which was unfortunate - so we waited in the restaurant for about 20 more mins before being seated once we were seated we ordered immediately but our food took so long to come out - probably close to 30 min the food itself was good - favorites were crispy rice and rainbow roll. otherwise ive had better asian food but this definitely satisfied the craving especially for a last minute game plan decision with no resy. id recommend this spot for sure for a solid asian fix!!

The Quick: My go to favorite 'nice' sushi restaurant in NYC. Get the tuna crispy rice, it's a must!! The details: This spot has a great vibe and is an upscale sushi spot without being pretentious. I wouldn't go here for an inexpensive takeout lunch - although they do actually have a great lunch menu with reasonably priced specials. The unique dishes make this spot special - the crispy rice, the truffle tuna pizza (pictured), the edamame dumplings ... All stars. Enjoy! Note: they don't take reservations The damage: a bit pricier but worth it

The sushi here is creative. We highly recommend that you make a reservation. They will not seat you until your entire party is at the restaurant you can be put on a waiting list which goes by extremely fast. The tables are a little bit cramped together as long as you don't mind the people next to you hearing your conversation. the food was very fresh. The atmosphere was great. The music was wonderful, and the service was very kind. They have some very tasty Junmai sakes. The tables are very small, but they do come and take the empty plates away very quickly. It was a really great vibe. We enjoyed it.

Momoya was a pleasant find if you are looking for a trendy sushi spot. AMBIANCE I came on a Tuesday evening and found the place packed to the brim! Upon entering, there's a qr code you have to scan to put your name down as they don't take reservations. We had to wait about 30 min before getting seated. FOOD As someone who finds variety is the spice of life, I decided to order the Momoya Box ($28), which you can choose from chicken or salmon teriyaki as your main. The box also comes with miso soup, your choice of spicy tuna or california roll, tempura, salad and shumai. We found everything to be very fresh, especially the sushi and tempura. As for the shumai, it had an interesting texture (like wavy noodles on top) and probably the one thing I would skip again. SERVICE Service was great and the waitstaff kept checking up on us. I'd love to come back and try their sushi rolls or even their lunch special. Highly recommend!

The food was so good. Came for lunch, the crowd after 2pm was minimal. Apparently they have a lunch menu until 230pm My friend got something off the lunch menu. The Chirashi. I knew i def wanted the crispy rice from the Yelp photos. I also got the fresh spring roll. I didn't take a photo. I was honestly already full from the crispy roll. I took most of the spring roll to go. We shared the warm chocolate cake... Yummy. Over all great place with fresh food. Will be back.
